Rebecca B. Heatherman

Rebecca Heatherman focuses her practice on estate planning. She works hard to ensure that her clients are fully prepared for life's unexpected events, and that they can rest assured that their families are fully protected and that their hard-earned assets are also protected and end up exactly where they want them to go. Her practice also includes the related fields of probate and trust and estate litigation, as well as guardianships and guardian ad litem work.  Prior to joining her previous firm, Ms. Heatherman worked for the California Charter Schools Association’s Legal Defense Fund where she focused on charter school property law issues, as well as litigation touching on all areas of charter school law.  She also worked for the Center for Education Law and Policy at the University of San Diego, researching, writing, and editing on various education law issues.  While in law school, Ms. Heatherman clerked for Judge Ernest Torres, the chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island.

She attended Notre Dame Law School and graduated from University of San Diego School of Law after transferring to be with her Marine husband who was then stationed at Camp Pendleton. She is a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Honor Fraternity. Ms. Heatherman has a degree in English from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and applies her English expertise daily to assist her clients. Prior to attending law school, Ms. Heatherman worked as a sixth-grade public school teacher in rural North Carolina, through Teach for America.

Rebecca is married to her husband, Ryan. Together they have four wild and crazy (and not so little anymore!) boys who allow them both to continually hone their investigative, negotiation, mediation, and counseling skills, while dodging flying objects.
